Founded by Wyatt through his Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) with Jackson Empower FFA in Jefferson, Georgia, Rising Sun Wellness Co. gives him the opportunity to learn what it takes to build and run a small business from the ground up.
What began as a simple idea has grown into a hands-on lesson in agriculture, entrepreneurship and responsibility.
Wyatt is involved in the work behind every bag of dried elderberry mix, from sourcing ingredients and preparing products to managing inventory, filling orders, tracking costs and meeting customers. Instead of only learning about business in the classroom, he gets to experience it firsthand.
Rising Sun Wellness Co. is also committed to giving back to the program that helped make it possible. A portion of every sale is set aside for Jackson Empower FFA, helping support future opportunities for students in the chapter.

Where FFA Fits In
A Supervised Agricultural Experience, better known as an SAE, gives FFA students the chance to take what they are learning and put it into practice outside the classroom.
For Wyatt, that became Rising Sun Wellness Co.
Through the business, he is learning about agriculture, entrepreneurship, product development, budgeting, customer service and what it takes to grow an idea from the ground up.
The experience goes far beyond making and selling a product. It means learning how to make decisions, solve problems, manage responsibilities and understand the work that goes into building something of your own.
It also gives Wyatt the opportunity to give something back. A portion of every Rising Sun Wellness Co. sale is set aside for Jackson Empower FFA to help support the chapter and the students who are part of it.
Why “Rising Sun”?
If you have ever looked closely at the FFA emblem, you have probably noticed the sun rising in the background.
The rising sun represents progress and a new day in agriculture. When it came time to name the business, that symbolism felt like a natural fit.
But the name means something more personal to Wyatt, too.
The rising sun also reflects his faith in God and the belief that each new day is another reminder of His promise, His purpose and the plan He has for what comes next.
Rising Sun represents where the business started, what Wyatt is learning through FFA and the faith that continues to guide him as he grows.
For Wyatt, it is a reminder to keep learning, keep working, trust the process and see where God leads next.
A Note From Wyatt
Hi, I’m Wyatt, the founder of Rising Sun Wellness Co. and a member of Jackson Empower FFA.
I started Rising Sun as my SAE project because I wanted to build a real business around something my family already uses and believes in. Elderberry syrup has been part of our family’s wellness routine for years, so creating a dried elderberry mix that other families could make at home felt like the right place to start.
Since then, I’ve been involved in every part of the business. I help source ingredients, prepare and package the mix, fill orders and sell at local events. I’m also learning how to price products, manage expenses, keep track of inventory and make decisions about how the business should grow.
One of my favorite parts of Rising Sun is that it gives me a chance to learn by actually doing. Every order teaches me something new about running a business, working with customers and turning an idea into something real.
My goal is to keep growing Rising Sun Wellness Co. over time. I’d eventually like to add more handmade, plant-based products, including things like lotions, salves and soaps. For now, I’m focused on making a great dried elderberry mix and continuing to learn as much as I can along the way.
Giving back is also a big part of what Rising Sun means to me. A portion of every sale goes back to Jackson Empower FFA, so each order helps me grow the business while also supporting the chapter and the students who have helped make this opportunity possible.
